Want to broadcast WeChat Channels content to customers in WeCom but don’t know where to add it?
There are currently two methods to do this:
- First, save the content as marketing material via 3Chat.ai, then create a private chat broadcast task.
- Use the official WeCom broadcast feature directly.
Below, we introduce the specific steps for each method.
Method 1: Using 3Chat.ai WeChat Interoperability Feature
If you need to broadcast content published by other WeChat Channels accounts, you can first use the 3Chat.ai WeChat interoperability feature to save the WeChat Channels content as marketing material, and then use it for private chat broadcasts.
The entire process consists of two steps: save the material first, then create the broadcast task.
Step 1: Save WeChat Channels Content as Marketing Material
Log in to the 3Chat.ai backend and go to the “Customer Reception Workbench.”
Open a conversation window with yourself or a colleague, and send the WeChat Channels content you want to broadcast into the chat.
Locate the WeChat Channels content you just sent, click “Favorite,” and save this WeChat Channels content to your marketing materials.
When saving, keep the following in mind:
- Set a clear and easy-to-find material name;
- If you have many materials, create detailed groups to manage them by category.
This makes it easier to locate the corresponding content when referencing materials later.
Step 2: Create a Private Chat Broadcast Task
After saving, navigate to:
Private Chat Broadcast (Lite Version) → Create New Task
Follow the prompts on the page to fill in the following:
- Task Name: Used to distinguish and manage different broadcast tasks;
- Broadcast Recipients: Select the customers you need to reach this time;
- Content: Enter the text, images, or web pages to be sent along with the WeChat Channels content. The order can be adjusted.
When editing the content, click “Reference Material,” find, and select the WeChat Channels material you just saved.
After selection, you can preview the actual content the customer will receive in the top right corner of the page. Once you confirm that the text, WeChat Channels material, and sending order are correct, proceed with the broadcast.
Method 2: Using the Official WeCom Broadcast Feature
This method is simple and suitable for broadcasting content published by your company’s own WeChat Channels account.
Step 1: Open the Broadcast Assistant
In the mobile version of WeCom, navigate to:
Workbench → Broadcast Assistant → New Broadcast
After entering the New Broadcast page, set the customer range for this broadcast.
Step 2: Add WeChat Channels Content
While editing the broadcast content, click:
Add Image/Video/File/Webpage/Mini Program
Then select “WeChat Channels Updates.”
Find the corresponding WeChat Channels account bound to your enterprise, and then select the video you want to send from the published WeChat Channels content below.
Once you have confirmed the broadcast recipients and content are correct, you can publish.
What are the limitations of this method?
The official WeCom broadcast feature can only select content from the WeChat Channels accounts bound to your enterprise. Additionally, the official WeCom broadcast feature has coarse user segmentation tags and does not support filtering by dimensions such as addition time or custom tags.
In other words, if you want to send WeChat Channels content published by other accounts, or if you want to perform more granular private domain user segmentation and push operations, you usually cannot do this directly here and must use the method above.
How should I choose between the two methods?
If you are sending content published by your company’s own WeChat Channels account, and the broadcast recipients are distinguished by WeCom tags, you can directly use the official WeCom broadcast feature, as the operational path is shorter.
If you need to send WeChat Channels content from other accounts, or if you want to filter broadcast recipients by more dimensions (such as addition time, custom tags, etc.), you can first favorite the content as marketing material via 3Chat.ai, and then reference it in “Private Chat Broadcast (Lite Version).”
